Secluded Beaches to Visit

When you're touring around the Coromandel in a Motorhome or Campervan, make sure you stop and take the walk to New Chums Beach. Its an easy stroll through the beautiful Nikau Palms and Pohutakawa trees (New Zealand native trees) to this stunning and secluded beach. You'll find directions in our handy reference guide to the Coromandel, located in every vehicle. Take time to enjoy and appreciate.

3 day hires are back!

February sees Coastal Campers popular 3 day Motorhome or Campervan hires back in action. If you live locally on the Coromandel Peninsula, now's a great time to pick up a Motorhome and head off for a Kiwi 'Must Do' Weekend. The Tongariro Crossing springs to mind or an action packed weekend in Rotorua might be the ticket. Closer to home the Kauaeranga Valley is an awesome spot to park up for a few days and explore the many tracks in the area, play in the river or tramp to the Pinnacles. If you're thinking of visiting the Coromandel, hiring a Motorhome or Campervan is a great way to see it. There's plenty of activities to see and do and don't forget your camera as the beautiful natural scenery means there's loads of photo opportunities.

Wentworth Valley

I'm looking forward to heading away for a motorhome camping weekend with my family next weekend. We plan to head to the Department of Conservation campground at Wentworth Valley, near Whangamata on the east coast of the Coromandel Peninsula, NZ. They've just upgraded the tracks and put in new bridges so the walk to the waterfalls should be great. We're going to take one of our rental motorhomes, a self contained 6 berth. It's got two dining areas so in the rear we can leave the main bed made up which saves some time when everyone's tired and ready for sleep.
It will be a great chance to get some more photos for our website www.coastalcampers.co.nz and also to put in the travel manuals in the rental campervans. Would be great to hear from you know of any great camping spots with tramping tracks or places of interest to explore in NZ.
